Single Mother Must Move

R.B. is a single Mom of two children. Her husband left one day and is not involved in the life of his family. R. has worked, returned to school and struggles every day to provide her two young chhildren a meanigful life. The only apartment she could aford was in a high crime area. Her apartment has been broken into 3 times in the past six months. Needless to say, both she and her children are terrified. Section 8 housing was located in a better neighborhood but the security and first month's rent was beyond her financial capability. Jewish Social Service was able to provide the rent, security deposit and contribute towards the moving costs. Hopefully, the children will enjoy a peaceful night sleep for the first time in months. YES...this happens in our own Jewish community. Because of the support of the community we are able to preform these daily Mitzvahs.
